With the Metro station under construction, the area is changing: renovations, granny flats, duplexes and, near the centre, new apartments.

In the original homes the job is the familiar one: the fifty-year-old robe comes out and a floor-to-ceiling sliding robe goes into the recess, with double hanging and shelving that use the height. These houses often have a deeper recess than the old robe used, which the new one takes advantage of.

In the granny flats, duplexes and apartments, the bedrooms are compact and the builder robe is a pair of doors with a rail behind. A re-fit of the internals, or a replacement sliding robe across the full wall, makes the room work.
